In computer science, an operand is a value within a function, such as - (a specific number or a variable). In the following example, you can understand the operand in eighty ways.
Addition of three numbers. (A = 1 , B = 5 , 8 )
A = 1 , B = 5 , 8
adding these - A + B + 5 = 8
You all must know that +, - , × , ÷ , = etc. are used for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of any value. So these are all operators. But the numbers in which manipulation, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are done by them are called operands.
A = 1 -- that is, a is a container or variable that holds a. It has A and an operand and = operator.
b = 5 - that is, b is the container or variable in which the dice are placed. It has b and 5 operands. and = are operators.
So in the above example A , B , and 8 are operands and + and = are operators. And there are 8 results.
What is the use of operands in computer science or programming languages.
Like use in normal life, in programming language also operation is done on data and new result is obtained. The values and variables that are used while manipulating these result and variable data that take part in the operation and store the value or any memory address are known as operands. That is, the word operand is used to address the data values and variables used while processing and manipulating the data.
